Scribe — the LaTeX paper studio with a co-author in it

Write the paper in LaTeX in the browser: compile to PDF, search five scholarly databases, cite without breaking the bibliography, and ask an assistant that proposes edits to the manuscript rather than talking about it.

What it makes

Scribe is a LaTeX paper studio with a co-author in it. Write in real LaTeX in the browser and compile to PDF, search five scholarly databases without leaving the manuscript, and cite in a way that lands in your .bib file with the keys intact. The assistant proposes anchored edits to the text rather than talking about them.

For the paper you are actually writing. Everything a submission needs — the source, the bibliography, the PDF — in one place that compiles.

How a session works

  1. Start or upload a manuscript and compile it to PDF in the browser to see where you are.
  2. Search arXiv, Crossref, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar and DBLP from the paper, and cite what you find.
  3. Ask the assistant for an edit; review the anchored diff it proposes and apply the parts you want.

What it costs

Editing, compiling and searching the databases cost nothing. The assistant's drafts and proposed edits spend credits per request.

Generation spends credits: paid plans include a monthly allowance, the Free plan starts with a one-time welcome grant, and you can top up at any time.

Included from the Starter plan.

Questions

Is this real LaTeX?
Yes. Your source is LaTeX, it compiles to a PDF in the browser, and the .bib file is a real bibliography rather than a list of formatted strings.
Which databases can I search?
arXiv, Crossref, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar and DBLP, searched from inside the paper so the citation lands where you are writing.
Will citing break my bibliography?
No. A citation is written into the .bib file with its key, so the reference exists where LaTeX expects it and the key in the text resolves.
Does the assistant rewrite my paper?
Only where you let it. It proposes edits anchored to the passage they change; you read the diff and apply what you agree with.
